Threads is a standalone app separate from the Instagram app. To find it, users can search for “Threads, an Instagram app” in the App Store or Google Play on their smartphones. Once the app is downloaded, the “Log in with Instagram” button can be found at the bottom of the screen. Since an Instagram account is required to use Threads, users have the option to follow individuals they are already following on Instagram. Additionally, users can immediately transfer their Instagram follower list to the app, simplifying the sign-up process.

However, leaving Threads is not as straightforward. According to the company’s privacy policy, “your Threads profile can only be deleted by deleting your Instagram account.” Users can temporarily deactivate their accounts through the app’s settings section.

The app adheres to Instagram’s Community Guidelines, which prohibit hate speech and the degradation or shaming of individuals, in order to ensure an inclusive and welcoming community.
